STEM Phlebotomy & IV Training Near St. Louis, IL

Our programs are designed for healthcare students and professionals, including nurses, phlebotomists, medical assistants, laboratory professionals, radiologic technologists, EMS personnel, and others involved in venipuncture and vein access.

All programs are suitable for beginners and/or seasoned healthcare professionals.  This STEM advancement is a new beginning in venipuncture – the next generation venipuncture – for everyone.  Call us with any any questions.

Our programs include the books and supplies in the cost of the course; no hidden or additional expenses.

Weekly.  Because they are only 1-3 students per class, and because the teaching is focused solely on venipuncture and the specific purpose of that venipuncture, and because there are exact scientific steps to follow when learning and doing, the course is short and TO THE POINT.  No time wasted on unnecessary information.

3-4 days.  2 hours/day for 3 days with the IV and injection of contrast course.  2hours/day for 4 days for the phlebotomy course.  The combined Phlebotomy/IV course is still 4 days but with slightly longer hours on the 4th day.  Call for the details on all.

No.  We have eliminated all of that burdensome, expensive, and not necessary requirements that other programs require.  If an employer wants you to have any of these, then you can make those arrangements.

No.  You can wear street clothes. 

Can I reschedule my training day?  Because classes consist of 1-4 students, rescheduling is easy – at no extra charge (there are limitations to the number of reschedules).

In VAT programs, there is usually 1-2 students, and on rare occasion 1-4.  During a seminar, there will be anywhere from 15-50 – but these are not the training sessions of normal classroom, these are informational seminars with some technique taught at each. 

Yes.  On the average, 80% of our students find employment within a month.  VAT gets a daily notice of area phlebotomy openings and shares this with the new graduates.

2 sticks only.  With the STEM education and training, two sticks demonstrate how effective, efficient and successful these new STEM methods are.  All the other programs require as many as 100 sticks during their course work - so each student can figure out through trial-n-error which works best for them.

Yes.  When the scientific FACT is immediately APPLIED to what you are doing, the fact is easy to remember and the explanation for why you are doing it that scientific way is crystal clear.

No.  Terminology of the entire body has nothing to do with locating a vein, dilating a vein, grading a vein, or accessing that vein.  You will learn terminology specific to the venipuncture procedure.

VAT’s book matches the instruction word-for-word.  The author of this book is the course instructor.  And the book was written to match the course.  (For those just purchasing a book, without the course instructons, will find that the step-by-step descriptions and applications are easy to follow, and work.)

Yes. You are considered a ‘certified phlebotomist’ after almost any phlebotomy training.   We consider you a certified Vein Access Tech.  [You can get an ‘ASCP certification’ AFTER you have worked for 2000 hours in an ASCP recognized laboratory (like a hospital lab), pay their ASCP fee, and take an ASCP test.]  Keep in mind, hospitals still do ‘on-the-job’ training – and those workers didn’t have to have any education or formal training.

Yes and No.  The certificate is good.  But certain states (CA, LA, NV, WA) require that you take a state written test to qualify for certification status in their state.

No.  Again, recall, on-the-job training still occurs in hospitals, doctor’s offices, labs, etc., and these individuals do not have a certificate.  And, no, you will not get paid more if you have one of these ‘national certificates’.  And, these national certifications DO NOT check your SKILL level, they just give you a written test to see if you have memorized some of the data correctly.
